Remember that many fees must be paid when buying any car from the auction here in Japan. It’s not a free ride for us sadly as much as we would love it to be.
Whether buying a car for $1,000 or $100,000 the fees do not change much except the auction fee may be a little higher for the $100,000 car as we must pay a larger tax fee on the more expensive taxable item. How the Enhanced Value Savings Work

Buying 1 to 2 cars only per month the base agent fee is 100,000 JPY up to 1.0 million JPY car cost maximum. This agent fee includes all costs within Japan and you pay nothing else in Japan.

*There are 5 or more auctions in Japan which are some distance from the shipping ports. These auctions may incur some additional transport costs over and above the base fees. These are minor auctions and rarely used. We will advise you if there is a car at one of these auctions prior to bidding.*
